kitchen/bathroom project

They live in the suburban city of south Orange, a college town of New jersey. They bought a 1963 ranch style home with a mid century architecture with floor to ceiling windows and a low pitch roof. Both Simone and Andre want to restore back the statement color of the home with the dusty blue and white paint as well as the golden pecan flooring. They also want to embrace the history of the home and bring in the design of the home with the modern style and design they have throughout the home. When researching the home style for the kitchen, I found the style to be very clean, sleek and minimalist. Sticking with the same color palette of the dusty blue and white, the kitchen will have that mid century look with a modern twist to it. Mostly using whites and light colors and having the dusty blue as the statement color in the kitchen. Including the golden pecan wood floors into the look, there will be a gold accent with the hardware.  The new kitchen design will function for the small family with enough room for the numerous things they do, with the style they both acquire for.

These are a few pictures of the kitchen and bathroom remodel for my project. For the project they wanted a refresh and complete remodel of the kitchen and bathroom, creating a space that match more of their esthetic. The spaces were created with a simple but modern look with lots of lighter colors to create the illusion of larger spaces. The bathroom was expanded into the master closet to create a larger space for the family.
